A distinction worth reading twice
The rule is explicit: it is acceptable to make a post about hiring, and it is not acceptable to make a post advertising your copywriting services. That asymmetry catches freelancers constantly, and it is the opposite of what most people assume when they arrive.
The other rules are similarly specific. A small amount of self-promotion is allowed if it is a free and genuinely helpful resource, but any link leading to a paid product or an email capture must be disclosed as such or the post is removed. Links to AI copywriting tools are banned entirely with an instant ban attached — worth knowing, since that is a large and growing product category. Claims about personal income require verification.
For anyone hiring writers this is a good, under-used channel. For writers seeking work it is the wrong subreddit and r/forhire is the right one.
