Privacy Policy
RedditScout ("we", "us") operates reddiscout.com, an AI-powered tool that scans public Reddit posts to help you find relevant leads. This policy explains what we collect and why. We keep it short because we keep data collection minimal.
What we collect
- Account details โ your email address, and your name if you provide one. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email and basic profile from Google's OAuth service.
- Your settings โ the product description, AI criteria, and subreddits you configure for scanning.
- Scan results โ public Reddit posts our scanner matched against your criteria, plus confidence scores and match reasons.
- Session data โ a login cookie so you stay signed in.
What we do NOT do
- We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
- We do not post, comment, vote, or take any action on Reddit on your behalf. RedditScout only reads public posts.
- We do not run ad-tracking or third-party advertising pixels.
How your data is stored
Data is stored in a SQLite database on our own server. Each account's settings and results are isolated to that account. We use industry-standard measures (HTTPS everywhere, hashed passwords) to protect it, though no system can be guaranteed 100% secure.
Third parties we rely on
- Reddit API โ to read public posts from the subreddits you choose.
- OpenAI โ post titles/text are sent to OpenAI's API to evaluate relevance against your criteria. See OpenAI's API data-usage policy for how they handle it.
- Google โ only if you choose "Sign in with Google".
Your choices
You can clear your evaluation logs from inside the app at any time. To delete your account and all associated data, email us at the address below and we will remove it.
