Free Reddit Keyword Monitor
See who on Reddit is talking about your keyword right now — which subreddit, how old the post is, and whether anyone has replied yet. No login. Use it for brand monitoring, competitor mentions, or finding people asking for what you sell.
How to get useful results
Search intent phrases, not just nouns. Searching "CRM" returns thousands of people discussing CRMs. Searching "recommend a CRM" or "looking for a CRM" returns people who want one now. Our guide to buyer-intent signals on Reddit lists the phrasings that convert.
Use quotes for exact phrases. Reddit's search supports "exact phrase", which cuts noise dramatically on generic terms. We tested every documented operator against the live API — thirteen of fourteen work, and title:, self:yes and NOT will sharpen a search far more than rewording it will.
Check the comment count before replying. A question with 40 comments has already been answered twenty times; your reply lands at the bottom. The best leads are recent posts with few replies — which is exactly what the "Newest first" sort surfaces.
Narrow to one subreddit when you already know where your buyers are. Not sure? Find them with the Subreddit Finder, then check whether the community actually allows promotion using the Subreddit Checker.
Limits of a one-off search
Searching by hand has two problems. First, timing: Reddit threads get most of their replies within hours, so a keyword you search on Friday shows you conversations that ended on Tuesday. Second, judgement: a keyword match is not the same as a lead. "I hate our CRM" and "we just signed with a CRM" both match CRM, but only one is worth your time — which is why RedditScout scores every post with AI instead of just matching text. Frequently asked questions
Is this Reddit keyword monitor free?
Yes. Search any keyword across Reddit with no login and no limits beyond a short anti-abuse throttle. It searches the last 30 days of posts and returns up to 25 matches.
How is this different from Reddit’s own search?
It is built around the question a marketer actually asks: who mentioned this recently, in which subreddit, and is anyone replying? Results show comment counts and post age so you can spot live conversations instead of dead threads, and you can restrict the search to a single subreddit.
Does it alert me when someone mentions my keyword?
This free tool is a one-off search — it shows what already exists. Continuous monitoring with daily scans, AI relevance scoring and email alerts is what RedditScout does for a signed-in account.
What keywords work best?
Phrases that signal intent, not just your brand name. "looking for a CRM", "any alternative to", "does anyone know a tool that" surface people actively asking, whereas a bare product category returns mostly discussion.
